One of the strengths of FACT is having a website which is mine of useful help, advice, resources and information regarding wrongful accusations of abuse, and how to deal with them

Regular visitors to this website will have noticed a few design changes. 
This is because, after years of sterling service to FACT and building up the enormous amount of content available within these pages, our former webmaster has stepped down and we have a new webmaster [writing this].

All websites need design refresh from time to time and, as I have a different way of working and a new theme is being used, it seems like the right time for new eyes to see what might be updated.

The header(s)

The header has been made a little shallower, to fit more content onto the page, especially as more people are now viewing websites on their smartphones than on a desktop computer.

Sharp-eyed readers will notice that there are actually two headers, one for the Home page  (and the Donate page) and one for the rest. This is because of the need to have an easily available Donation button. FACT is run by volunteers and, to keep going, like everone, we need funds.
On the Home page and the Donate page (obviously), there are visible Donation by Paypal buttons, so on the remaining pages, a link to the Donate page appears in the header.

The Home page

On the Home page, the dramatic photo of the man with head in hands was retained but the essential  contact numbers moved onto the black background.

Below that, between the quotation and the Donation button, there is a sliding carousel of relevant new items. If there is Fact news, (like a new website design!) or important news of interest to FACT members, there is a place to notice it without having to go and search it out somewhere on the site. Clicking on one of them will take you to the relevant item.

Below that are two more images with links to the two sections of highest importance to our visitors –
a) How to deal with the mental stress of being falsely accused, and
b) What FACT can do to help

Below that we have another (space-saving) carousel rotating the latest blog posts. The Fact Blog heading will take you to the main Blog archive (like the link in the header menu), while clicking on a particular example in the carousel, will take you to the relevant post.

Finally, there is a call for help, either by becoming a member, or financially via donations, or in some other practical way. If you would like to get involved with this very worthy cause, please contact us.

Blog page

The new blog archive has a similar layout as before, but now there are filter buttons, according to category so if, for example, you want to see posts about Miscarriages of Justice, or posts which refer to the Effects of False Allegations, click on the appropriate button. 

For anything else, there is a search bar, but the results will appear on a separate page and, to return to the blog archive, you’ll need either to click the back button on your browser, or the FACT Blog item in the header.

Other pages

The remaining pages are similar to how they were – in some cases unchanged except for the template on which they appear. The main difference is that the Menu dropdown items have been either simplified, or grouped into smaller chunks.

Please take a wander around the site. There will probably be the odd gremlin, such as a broken link, which I will fix over the next month or so, but these are mainly small text links within pages or posts.
