In a joint initiative South Wales Against Wrongful Conviction, FASO (False Allegations Support Organisation, and FACT are to present Members of the Senedd (The Welsh Assembly) with copies of Richards Webster’s book The Secret of Bryn Estyn – the making of a modern witch hunt). The presentation has been organised primarily in response to recent developments which, once again, have put Bryn Estyn, and other care homes in north Wales in the national spotlight.

Former members of staff who worked at the home are particularly concerned that their voice is not being heard and that the politicians are being swept up in a media frenzy rather than a search for the truth. With a few notable exceptions no one it seems has asked the question of whether those staff accused might be innocent, and what safeguards are necessary to prevent people being falsely accused.
The presentation will take pace at the Senedd, in Cardiff Bay at 12:30 pm on Wednesday 5th December 2012.
Supporters of SWAWC, FASO and FACT are very welcome to attend.
Please be aware that it is the nature of these things that the presentation will be brief however it will provide a platform for those involved to get their message across as the Press are expected to be in attendance and will be fully briefed before the event takes place.
Those attending are requested to arrive in good time as you may have to pass through the security scanners. The venue is at the Senedd (pronounced Sen-eth) in Cardiff Bay. It is a very distinct building with a wavy slate roof.
