Sir, If, in criminal trials involving drug barons and gang leaders, Tony Blair is keen to relieve the Crown of its burden to prove the accused guilty beyond all reasonable doubt (report, February 10), he risks eroding the trust we place in our courts that they will deal with cases fairly. Getting the right result by the wrong means is not the variety of justice citizens of the UK are entitled to expect (letter, February 7). Yours faithfully,DAVID WOOD(Solicitor),8 Catonfield Road,Liverpool L18 3HD.February 10.
