Union demands probe into West Midlands child protection investigations

Union leaders called for a review of the way child protection cases are investigated following the acquittal of a headteacher who was accused of slapping a six-year-old pupil who has severe behavioural problems.The The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) said it was concerned about the number of headteachers in Sandwell, who had been subjected to a police inquiry over unfounded allegations involving children.
