THE lord chief justice has reignited his feud with David Blunkett by publishing his most outspoken attack yet on the government’s criminal justice reforms, writes David Leppard. In an unprecedented move, Lord Woolf has said he is “appalled” by some aspects of Blunkett’s criminal justice bill. He accuses the home secretary of “a totally erroneous assessment” of the consequences of proposed new tougher sentences for serious criminals.
