UNICEF cot death claim censured

ALL child deaths should be treated as cases of abuse where no other cause can be determined, Unicef said yesterday in a report that provoked an immediate protest from experts on cot death. Joyce Epstein, of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Death, said the international children’s fund was seriously at fault in throwing suspicion over all parents whose children had died suddenly and unexpectedly.
