Jane Hutt announces plans to implement the Carlile report

Welsh Minister for Health and Social Services, Jane Hutt, today announced her plans for the implementation of the Carlile Report of the Review of Safeguards for Children and Young People Treated and Cared for By the NHS in Wales. The report contained 150 recommendations, all of which were accepted by the Welsh Assembly Government when its response was debated in a plenary session at the end of April.Jane Hutt said, “The allegations that formed the root cause of the need for the Carlile Review originated in a child and adolescent mental health clinic in North Wales. This group of young patients are particularly vulnerable to abuse and need especially robust safeguards to be in place.
